More Happy Holidays
Okay, this post is from me. I sincerely wish all of you peace and happiness this holiday season. It has been a tough year for many of us. Please remember, the holidays are not about the gifts but about friends and family, good health, and hopefully a job and a warm home. The library is also the spot for warmth, friends and good cheer...as well as resources for job searches, resume building and a killer health information section! We are here for you...well, except for the fact we are closed on Dec. 24 and 25.
And I am sure you are all busy cooking and preparing for the onslaught of family and friends. Me too! If you have been reading this for awhile, you must know I have finally overcome a paralyzing fear of raw chicken. I have been slicing and dicing that raw stuff for months now and I must admit, I am quite proud of myself but I almost regressed last night...but I didn't. I found this great pate recipe in Bon Appetit (of course). At 1:00 am this morning, I opened that container of chicken livers. Ooooh boy. That nearly sent me running! But I talked myself through it and chopped up those bloody livers and made quite a tasty treat. I hope my guests think so..but don't tell Pete what is in the pate. I just told him it was chicken...no need to elaborate.
Again, happy holidays to all from everyone at the Library! Enjoy what you have and who you are with! And let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....(sorry, I love winter!)
